Woman Arrested After Fatally Shooting Ex-Boyfriend After He Broke Into Her Home

A domestic dispute in Warren, MI turned deadly after a woman allegedly shot her ex-partner during an altercation on November 4th. Authorities are investigating the incident, with the woman currently in custody.


WARREN, MI (2-minute read) — A deadly shooting in Warren on Monday afternoon has left one man dead and a woman in police custody. The incident, suspected to involve a history of domestic violence, occurred around 4:20 p.m. on the 24000 block of Bolam Street, located near 10 Mile Road and Groesbeck Highway.

Warren police reported that the 29-year-old man was shot once in the abdomen by a 33-year-old woman at the scene. After being struck, the man reportedly fled the residence on foot, only to collapse on a nearby street. Responding officers located the injured man, who was transported by the Warren Fire Department to a Metro Detroit hospital. Despite medical efforts, he was pronounced dead due to the severity of his injuries.

The woman was taken into custody without any resistance and reportedly admitted to the shooting. According to her account, she and the deceased had been in an on-and-off relationship marred by domestic conflicts. She claimed the incident escalated after the man allegedly forced his way into her home and chased her, leading her to discharge her firearm in self-defense. Warren police are currently investigating her statements and other evidence.

It is not clear why the woman was taken into custody.

Law enforcement officials noted an extensive history of domestic violence linked to the residence.
